HOW TO USE IT
Our no rinse Fusion™ TSP Alternative is a water-based degreaser used to thoroughly clean a painted surface prior to applying paint. Highly efficient, it removes oil, grease, fingerprints, stains and other contaminants, which will improve the adhesion and the look of subsequent coatings.
Mix 2 capfuls into 1L of water. Wash surface with mixture to remove dirt and grease. Keep washing the surface until your rag is no longer removing visible dirt or grease.
Rinsing is not required, however be sure to thoroughly clean your surface and change to a fresh clean rag as needed.

- #FUN FACT – You can use Tung Oil to finish concrete, stone brick and even bamboo!
It penetrates to protect from the inside out. It fills up the spaces in between the grain of wood and dries to a hard water resistant finish. This oil does not leave a surface film that will chip or scratch… how amazing is that?
The oil saturates the wood, seals it from moisture from within. You will never have chipping, flaking or peeling! At least 2 coats are recommended, however the more coats, the more protection. You will want to re-coat every few years as the wood starts to look dull and dry. Re-coating is simple and easy, as you will not have to sand, or removing any peeling/flaking paint, just add oil, like a conditioner
Tung oil is unpolymerized and is all natural drying oil, providing a tough, flexible and highly water-resistant coating. Perfect for furniture, counter tops, interior and exterior wood surfaces. This oil provides a soft lustre with a finish that is unrivalled by many other oils..
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How does it work?
Unlike a Varnish or Water-based poly coating, Tung Oil and Hemp Oil are breathable. Now, what does that mean exactly? Because these oils are from natural pressed seeds with no additives or solvents, they do not leave a plastic coating or film like conventional topcoats, like polyurethane or varnish.
Can I use Hemp Oil over Fusion Mineral Paint?
Yes you can however we prefer to recommend the Stain & Finishing Oil instead as you can easily paint over it, Tung Oil is difficult to paint over.
Can I use Fusion Mineral Paint over Tung Oil?
Not right away. We recommend giving the tung oil a couple of months to cure before trying to use Fusion over top. If the Fusion laces or beads, the oil is not ready to be painted on. There is no guarantee with this oil that you can 100% successfully paint over it.
Do I have to re-apply Tung Oil?
It depends on your application. If you have applied the tung oil to a raw wood surface and want to keep it in great condition, we do recommend re-applying every 6-12 months, or as the wood shows it needs it based on your needs.
Can I use Tung Oil outside?
Definitely! Tung oil adds water resistance to the surface it is applied on. It is great for decks, Adirondack chairs, and picnic tables! For best results, we recommend re-applying the oil at least once a year.
Is Tung Oil food-safe?
Yes it is. Once cured and as long as no solvent has been used to cut the Tung Oil. However, we advise against using the tung oil as a food safe finish.
Can I use Tung Oil on my wood floors?
Definitely. For this application, it is best if you can sand the floors down to raw wood, apply the tung oil in excess, and let it soak in. Leave it for 12-24 hours, then wipe away the excess. If there is no excess, you may need to apply more and repeat the process until your floors are saturated.
Can Tung Oil be used outdoors?
Yes, Tung Oil can be used for interior and exterior purposes.
How do I revive old wood with Tung Oil?
Apply the Tung Oil generously with a brush or cloth. Let the wood soak in the Tung Oil for approximately 5-10 minutes. Remove the excess Tung Oil within 10 minutes of application. Apply another coat if needed immediately.
